As the most influential social hub in early modern North China, the guest registry of Zheng Tai Grand Hotel bears witness to pivotal historical moments: Sun Yat-sen strategized railway nationalization here in 1912, Song Jiaoren convened industrialists in 1925, and Zhou Enlai secretly met with Nationalist generals in 1937. The teakwood paneling in its presidential suite still preserves strategic sketches left by General Peng Dehuai during the Zheng Tai Campaign, while its rooftop observatory witnessed the liberation of Shijiazhuang in 1947.
