As a national-level medical technology incubation platform and talent strategic highland, the core area of Boao International Medical Innovation Port has now completed its signature art installation, the "Light of Life" dome-shaped light array, in the main atrium space. This device interprets the imagery of life science through dynamic light and shadow and presents the infinite possibilities of future medical care with innovative engineering aesthetics.
In terms of engineering design, the main structure is composed of 32 groups of precisely processed mirror-finish stainless steel units, each unit containing 8 tapering light guide tubes, with a total of 256 programmable light tracks forming a three-dimensional matrix. The main frame is made of medical-grade 304 stainless steel through a hot-bending process, and its surface is treated with a nano-coating to create a highly reflective texture. The original hexagonal honeycomb structure is quickly assembled through prefabricated components, and the three-dimensional scale of 4900mm×5200mm×3900mm forms a perfect resonance with the architectural space.

The technological innovation is reflected in the intelligent light control system. Through the distributed control unit, each light track is independently programmed to achieve 1024-level color temperature adjustment and dynamic light effect combination. The specially designed fluid mechanics modeling module, after parametric modeling, not only meets the artistic expression of the microscopic morphology of the virus but also ensures the industrial-grade assembly standard with an accuracy of 0.08mm. During the production process, a combined technology of die stamping and laser cutting was adopted, enabling over 1,200 irregular-shaped components to achieve 98% standardized production.

As a key national medical innovation demonstration project, this device integrates precision manufacturing with digital art. Its modular design has increased the overall installation efficiency by 70% and reduced operation and maintenance costs by 45%. The dynamic light and shadow system can switch display modes according to scene requirements: it presents spiral light effects symbolizing DNA chains in daily life and can perform digital art scenes of cell division in important moments. This innovative practice that integrates engineering aesthetics with intelligent technology has become a landmark art installation showcasing the strength of China's medical technology and highlighting the bright prospects of the medical innovation field.
